WATER CONSERVATION AND LEAKS

WATER CONSERVATION

Avoid applying water to driveways, sidewalks, outdoor landscapes, private and public walkways, roadways, parking lots, or structures via hose, sprinkler or pressure washer.

Adhere to strict limits on watering: water only before 9 am or after 8 pm, and no more than two days per week. Examples include watering newly planted, drip irrigated, drought tolerant landscaping, lawns, and vegetable gardens.

Avoid using a hose to wash motor vehicles, trailers, boats, etc. unless the hose is fitted with a shut-off nozzle or device that causes it to cease dispensing water immediately when not in use.

Refrain from applying water to outdoor landscapes during and within 48 hours after rainfall.

Do not use Boistfort Valley Water to fill swimming pools.

We also ask that you as shareholders and rate payers of Boistfort Valley Water please report any suspicious use of Fire Hydrants.

WATER LEAKS

Now is a good time to become familiar with your water meters.  Although we prohibit people from turning off/on water at the meter.  We recommend people become familiar with the location of their meter and water usage.  We suggest turning off all the water at your residence, going out to your meter, and take a look at it.  If all your water is off and your meter dial is still spinning you have a water leak.

As part of our effort to help conserve water, we will notify customers when we receive information that indicates that a water leak may exist that is within the customer’s control.  Customers must fix leaks within five business days of notification.  If you are concerned that you may have a water leak or if you have any other questions about the prohibited uses of water,

please contact us 360-748-1285 Monday - Friday 9am-3pm.
